Structure and Possessive Pronouns



Possesive pronouns: show ownership and do not precede a noun or gerund; they may precede by a noun and the preposition (a book of mine) they are always in the possesive case and do not need apostrophe, because each one of these pronouns has it own particular possesive form.

singular-------plural

First person. Mine_______Ours

Second person. Yours______yours

Third person. Her_______ Theirs

________ His_______ Theirs

Example:

(mine) bicycle (near)__________________this bicycle is mine
(ours) motorcycle_______________this motorcycle is ours
(yours) cars___________________those cars are yours

(I) this (plane)-------- ex. this plane is mine.
you this (car)
she this (bike)
we this (school)
they this (blimp)
